Hideaway Place is a music project by acclaimed songwriter and producer Nahum Gald. While trying to adapt to a post collegiate personal life as well as a post 9/11, mid-recession world of unrest, Nahum sought solace behind a guitar and piano. Deep within the confines of an underground recording studio, he recorded and produced various songs which depict the contrast between the beauty and emotional turmoil of his personal world.
Having received critical acclaim in the form of a Hollywood Music in Media Award Nomination for Best Song, along with a publishing contract with APM Music, the songs have been put together in an LP titled “The Obscurity Diaries” and is set to be released in Spring 2012.

Hideaway Place: ★★★★ (4 out of 5 stars)
L.A. singer/songwriter Nahum Joshua (doing business here as “Hideaway Place”) blends soaring melodic hooks, solid musicianship, emotional (not EMO) songwriting, lush soundscapes, and moody grooves over 12 tastefully produced tracks on this very purchase-worthy collection of earnest Modern Rock. To this reviewer’s ear, the vocals sound like a heartfelt cross between Ben Folds and Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard. The atmospheric instrumental mix throughout masterfully balances power with dynamics.
Hideaway Place’s bittersweet and beautiful songs carry strong emotional appeal and deserve a broad listening audience ala’ The Fray and Snow Patrol. If you like Ben Folds, Teitur, or Elliott Smith, this may be right up your musical alley.
Standout Tracks: “Satellites”, “Obscurity”, “Funny”, “Champagne”
